The University of Washington Hub includes sites and spokes that serve geographically and demographically diverse patient populations, including underrepresented and underserved. The hub embraces five States, military and pediatric populations, affected by a broad range of disorders for which pain is a clinically significant component.
In addition to the main grant, a supplement has been obtained: "Increasing Diversity and Community Engagement in EPPIC-Net Research at the University of Washington". The major goals are to engage with community partners and increase the racial, ethnic, socioeconomic diversity of EPPIC-Net study participants, provide the resources necessary to successfully recruit and retain minority populations.
